Has it really been almost 40 years? Ugly lasts forever maybe? Some people may have changed their opinion but these have not grown on me.

Somewhere else in have a scenery shot of this. Here is the roster. They went everywhere in their second (third?) career but they are getting really hard to find these days.

Just weeks before this photo, CF-7 2606 had been Santa Fe F7 220C, and still appears spotless on October 4, 1972 at Temple, Texas.

The seventh CF-7 built, ATSF 2643 is in charge of the south local near Hoyte, Texas on Jan. 16, 1971, just days after it left the company’s Cleburne Shops. It originally was F7 270.

This unit's own was right next to the TVA plant the served and this was the parts supply to keep several others running.

ATSF rebuilts were somewhat like facelifts, the first one wasn't bad but they should have left well enough ALONE. Did anyone catch Larry King last night?
